Ardagh Glass Europe is part of Ardagh Group, a global leader in glass and metal packaging with 33 glass production facilities, which produce award-winning, sustainable glass bottles and jars for the world’s leading brands.
Ardagh is the only producer of glass packaging in the Nordic regions, with bases in Holmegaard in Denmark and Limmared in Sweden, so our organic campaigns focused on Danish, Swedish and Norwegian visitors.
Ardagh Nordic had been hitting a stumbling block in terms of organic traffic over the 12 months prior to our agency coming on board. The team weren’t happy with where they were ranking for high-priority keywords, so we came up with a solid search engine optimisation strategy that would see their visibility increase.
Because the traffic would ideally be directed to a subdivision of the website, link building within the relevant Scandinavian locations was a vital task for us.
We took a close look at the quality of the webpages, optimising metadata and content in all relevant languages. Placing increasing importance on the news items of the site, we made sure that enough link juice was sent to all Nordic web pages, validating their place within the site map.
A 144% increase in Swedish traffic, a 315% increase in Danish traffic, and a 102% increase in Norwegian traffic to the Nordic landing pages since the campaign began. And 30,000 more impressions on the search engine results for these pages since the work began.
