Quarantined... Still

Way back in March 2020, we posted about how our agency was dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and, we stupidly used phrases like, for a minimum of 2 weeks, and take every day as it comes.

Well, now we have pretty much resigned ourselves to the fact that we're hermits for life and, while the developers are thrilled about this, some of us may need a little extra socialisation and sunshine.

The COVID-19 pandemic has been hard on us all… some more than others. (Sorry, Gav, we hate to break it to you, but lockdown has taken a toll.)

At the start of the pandemic, we put measures in place so that our team could continue to work their magic on digital marketing campaigns, web designs and development projects whilst at home. Thanks to our lovely Projects Team, our home working has been super successful for us with productivity continuing to thrive whilst allowing us to keep safe and follow regulations.

How have we coped with the easing of measures?
As the COVID measures have started to ease, we have allowed our team to go back into the office, but this is optional. We opted to give them a choice so that everyone felt safe and no pressure when it comes deciding where to. Most of us chose to stay working from home, no surprise there, as most of us can't find any petrol for the commute...

Of course, we still go into the office when needed for meetings and other matters. Most importantly, we managed to escape from Becky’s terrible playlist so maybe lockdown was a blessing in disguise for us?

How do we work from home?
We understand that everyone works to the best of their abilities in different environments, so we encourage the team to make sure they are comfortable and undisturbed in their home offices.

Some of us appear to be decorating our home office desks with alcohol as a weekend motivator, others choose a zen garden, and some go full-on interior designers.

Each to their own. We’re completely convinced that Beckie had the hangover from hell after that weekend, must've been a rough work week.

Our daily Zoom meetings still go ahead where we get the chance to ask any questions or bring forward updates on projects or announcements that need to be made. Stand up is still carried out sat down as we know that half of us are most likely still sitting in our pyjama bottoms, or at least we hope underwear at the bare minimum! No guarantees with Scott or Josh though.

Throughout the day we stay connected through Slack, and meetings go ahead via Microsft Teams or Zoom. Our unique sense of humour carries on through our team channels on Slack, with some dreadful Squid game memes making the rounds recently.

Companion Visits
Not all of us own pets, but those who do have occasional visits from their fluffy friends every so often throughout the workday. Sometimes making an appearance in our stand-up meetings and sometimes jumping on the keyboard typing, “dwefgwrgw,” which makes complete sense in cat language, right?

We wouldn’t have it any other way.
