a visit to grand designs live

Are you on the lookout for an outside space for your cats? We presume the lady above was.

Over the past few months we have been working on a series of designs for SkyPods, who construct amazing spaces from aircraft fuselage. The quirky spaces have the potential to be used as a home office, man cave, garden room, cinema room, glamping pod or for corporate hospitality. Pretty much anything you can conceive.

After all the hard work we had put in, it was nice to have a break and go to see the finished product on display.

We are fresh from a visit to the Grand Designs Live exhibition at the NEC in Birmingham, where we went to see our work on display alongside the impressive SkyPod and catch up with our client. We even bumped in to Kevo himself, Kevin McCloud, but were too interested in the idea of steel kitchen counters to ask him if he needed any design work.

Anyway... the SkyPod proved very popular at the show and was surrounded throughout the exhibition, with other exhibitors even reporting that it was still being talked about when visitors reached their stands.

As well as designing a brochure, business cards and postcards, all of which were flying from the exhibition. We storyboarded, designed and animated a 2 minute video which was playing on loop within the SkyPod.

All these features were created with the aim of driving traffic to the web single page SkyPods website that we designed and built with functionality at its core. As an information website, it is important to tell the history of the plane, the story of the build process as well as the adaptability of the pods, and drive enquiries from there.

Overall, the was a massive success and we can't wait to see how SkyPods grow and evolve and hopefully have a SkyOffice of our own one day.
